Thrive Tree Consultancy provides independent arboricultural advice with a particular focus on improving the establishment, performance and long-term success of newly planted trees. Services are delivered proportionately and are shaped around the specific needs of each project, from early design and specification through to establishment, management and review.
Services
Tree planting & establishment advice
Independent advice to support the successful specification, installation and early establishment of new tree planting. This service focuses on helping projects move beyond planting targets toward sustainable, long-term performance, addressing issues such as species selection, tree size, planting detail, soil conditions and aftercare requirements.
Advice can be provided at early design stages or applied to live projects, helping ensure specifications are realistic, proportionate and deliverable, while giving newly planted trees the best possible chance to establish and thrive.
Young tree inspections & audits
Assessment of newly planted and establishing trees to review condition, performance and compliance with specification. Inspections focus on identifying defects, failures or emerging issues at an early stage, when remedial action is most effective.
Findings are presented clearly and pragmatically, supporting informed decision-making around maintenance, remedial works, replacement or changes to management approach.
Tree risk assessment and decay detection
Risk-based tree surveys to support safe, informed and proportionate tree management, combining sound arboricultural judgement with detailed digital data capture. Surveys include general condition assessment alongside targeted decay detection where defects, symptoms or site context indicate a need for further investigation.
Inspection findings are recorded digitally and mapped spatially, allowing data to be integrated with GIS systems and presented in a clear, interactive format. This approach improves transparency, supports asset management and makes it easier for clients to interrogate, share and act on the information provided. Outputs are designed to add practical value, balancing tree retention, public safety and long-term management objectives through robust technical evidence rather than overly precautionary recommendations.
Planning, audits and professional support
Arboricultural services to support planning and development proposals, including BS5837 surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
This service area also includes independent landscape and planting audits to assess compliance with approved specifications, as well as professional coaching and training in best practice tree planting and establishment. Support is evidence-led and focused on protecting project value, improving outcomes and reducing long-term risk.
If you would like to discuss a specific requirement or are unsure which service best fits your project, Thrive would be happy to help. Initial conversations are informal and focused on understanding context and identifying the most appropriate next steps.
